Top of the Line Celebrity Entertainer - Jay Leno

This premier event will take place in downtown San Diego on the water at the Navy Pier on the USS Midway Museum on Saturday, June 14, 2008. The U.S.S. Midway is a 47-year odyssey that spanned the end of WWII and Desert Storm, an odyssey in which more than 225,000 Americans took part.

This event is a fundraiser for the San Diego Junior Golf Association, recognized as one of the finest junior golf associations in the world. Since 1952 this respected program has helped influence the lives of youth through the game of golf and spawned not only such high achievers as PGA TOUR players Craig Stadler, Scott Simpson, Chris Riley, Charley Hoffman, Pat Perez and Phil Mickelson, but also numerous well respected and productive citizens within the San Diego community as well. The evening will feature celebrity entertainment featuring Jay Leno, whose performance promises to be one that you won’t soon forget!

2003 Junior World Championships - Boys 15-17 division

John W. Brown, Mrs. A.S. (Lou) Smith and Norrie West founded the Junior World Golf Championships in 1968. Their goal was to bring young golfers from all parts of the world together in hopes of achieving a greater understanding among people of differing cultures and values through the great game of golf. The inaugural tournament had 475 entrants from 20 states and six countries. Since 1968, the Junior World Golf Championships has received representation from 73 countries. Our three founders had incredible vision in developing a golf tournament that through the years has remained one of the most prestigious international events in the world.

The Junior World Golf Championships is truly unique with a total field size exceeding 1000 golfers and representing an impressive number of countries and states. Many Junior World champions have gone on to enjoy successful careers on the PGA and LPGA Tours, including Amy Alcott, Notah Begay, Brandie Burton, John Cook, Dorothy Delasin, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson, Corey Pavin, Pat Perez, Joan Pitcock, Nick Price, Kim Shipman, Craig Stadler, David Toms and Tiger Woods.
