Champions Crowned at the 2026 Two Man Links & Father/Son Championship at Torrey Pines
Perfect weather greeted competitors for the final round at Coronado Golf Course this past Sunday, capping off three days of championship golf across some of San Diego’s most iconic layouts. The AmateurGolf.com Two Man Links & Father/Son Championship showcased elite amateur talent on courses that test PGA Tour professionals.
After opening rounds on Torrey Pines North and the championship South Course—home to two U.S. Opens and ranked among the #2 and #9 hardest courses on the PGA Tour—teams finished at Coronado under ideal scoring conditions.
Colorado Duo Claims Three Titles
Dale Syta and Mark Ramos from Colorado dominated the championship, capturing victories in three separate divisions with remarkably consistent play across all three venues.
Open Division
Syta and Ramos claimed the Open Division title at 1-under-par (215), capping their week with a 2-under 70 at Coronado. After rounds of 73 at Torrey North and 72 on the demanding South Course, they pulled away with their best golf when it mattered most.
Jeff Lane and Robert Stone finished second at 5-over-par (221), while Mike Graham and Patrick McIntyre took third at 10-over-par (226).
Net Open Division
The Colorado pair continued their dominance in the Net Open Division at 6-under-par net (210), with a Sunday net 66 sealing their sweep of both Open titles.
Graham and McIntyre claimed second at 5-under-par net (211), while Barry Castle and Russell Johnson tied with Andrew Bowden and Shawn Lostracco for third at 2-under-par net (214).
Senior Division
Syta and Ramos completed their trifecta by taking the Senior Division crown at 1-under-par (215). Lane and Stone again finished second at 5-over-par (221), with Jeremy Smith and Michael Smith third at 7-over-par (223).
Canada Father-Son Team Goes Low
Aiden and Darren Canada delivered one of the championship’s most impressive performances, dominating the Father/Son Division with improving scores each day: 69 at Torrey North, 68 at Torrey South, and 67 at Coronado to finish at 12-under-par (204).
David Ortego and David Ortego Sr. finished second at 7-under-par (209), while Donald and Zachary Miller claimed third at 3-under-par (213).
Wilson Family Takes Net Father/Son Title
Lee and Steve Wilson maintained control throughout the Net Father/Son Division, finishing at 10-under-par net (206) to claim the championship.
Brad and Robby Evans, who posted a brilliant net 65 in the final round, tied with the Canada duo for second at 7-under-par net (209).
The Championship Test
What makes this event special is the venue. Competitors faced the same challenges PGA Tour professionals navigate:
Torrey Pines North – 7,258 yards of championship golf with stunning coastal views
Torrey Pines South – The 7,765-yard U.S. Open venue where Tiger Woods won on a broken leg, ranked as one of the tour’s toughest tests
Coronado Golf Course – Perfect harbor views and player-friendly conditions for a strong finish
The Two Man Links format adds strategic depth beyond individual stroke play—teams must communicate, manage risk, and capitalize on each partner’s strengths. The father-son divisions bring generations together on courses that host major championships.
From pristine conditions to competitive fields across multiple divisions, the championship delivered everything amateur golfers seek in team competition. The combination of elite venues, coastal scenery, and the team format creates an experience beyond traditional tournaments.
As the winners celebrated overlooking the Pacific Ocean, they joined the list of champions who have conquered the Torrey Pines challenge—playing the same fairways and greens where the world’s best compete annually.
