Kim and Chong Share the Lead After Two Rounds at Women’s SCGA Amateur at Torrey Pines

The North Course at Torrey Pines has once again proven itself as a championship-caliber test, delivering two exciting rounds of competitive amateur golf at the 2025 Women’s SCGA Amateur Championship.

After 36 holes, Jasmine Kim (UC Irvine) and Amber Chong (San Diego State) are tied at the top at 5-under par. Kim surged into the lead with an impressive 5-under 67 in round two, collecting six birdies and showcasing excellent control across Torrey’s rolling fairways and slick greens. Her back nine featured four birdies in five holes, the kind of hot streak that turns heads even on a course as demanding as Torrey Pines.

Chong showed similar poise and precision, backing up her opening 70 with a steady 69. She rolled in five birdies and avoided costly mistakes, proving once again why she’s one of the most consistent players in the field.

Not far behind, UCLA’s Zoe Campos fired a 68 to sit at 3-under, using five birdies and just one bogey to climb the leaderboard. The second round also saw several strong performances from top collegiate and amateur players, all battling the North Course with grit and focus.

With sun-drenched fairways and cool ocean breezes, Torrey Pines continues to deliver an unforgettable stage for competitive golf. The tradition, the challenge, and the talent were on full display over two standout rounds of the Women’s SCGA Amateur.
